Genomics Unit
At the Institute of Evolutionary Biology (IBE) Genomics Unit, we employ both conventional and cutting-edge molecular biology techniques to facilitate the analysis and characterization of genes and genetic material across diverse organisms. Our primary goal, is to help to unravel the intricacies of the genome, elucidate its impact on the evolution of life, and its role in health.
At the IBE Genomics Unit we can offer services and scientific consultation on:
- Design and construction of RNA and DNA libraries, including libraries for RNA-seq, RAD-Seq, WGS (whole genome sequencing), Hi-C and metabarcoding.
- High molecular weight DNA extraction for de novo genome sequencing projects.
- Design and implementation of qPCR experiments such as differential gene expression and qPCR with TaqMan probes. We also offer consultation on digital PCR.
- Design and implementation of eDNA experiments for the analysis of water and soil samples.
- Design and synthesis of sgRNA for CRISPR experiments.
- Design and synthesis of dsRNA for RNAi experiments.
- Detection and quantification of emerging infectious diseases in amphibians (Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis, B. salamandrivorans, y Ranavirus).
