From January 19 th to 23 rd 2015 the second edition of the PhD course on Evolutionary Biology took place at the IBE. During five days, main topics in Evolutionary Biology were lectured, and each of the five IBE Programs was responsible to conduct the lectures during one of the days of the course. The course was attended by 30 IBE members, including PhD candidates and Master students. A final evaluation multiple-choice test was followed by 23 PhD candidates after the course (on February 3 rd). In addition, an anonymous survey via internet was answered by 13 of the attendants and the average of all the items that were evaluated (overall, organization, relevance, expectations, materials and room) was Very Good (from a five-answer scale from Excellent to Poor). On February 10 th an informal coffee&cookies follow-up session took place at the IBE to communicate the results to the course participants and a prize was given to Begoña Dobón, a PhD candidate of the IBE Population Genetics Program, for scoring the highest grade in the multiple-choice test. During this informal session some suggestions from the PhD candidates were taken into account and will be implemented in future editions of the IBE PhD course.
