In his thesis, Jesus provides an evolutionary context for the transition from hemimetabola to holometabola metamorphosis.  For this research, he used the model organism Blattella germanica to study the molecular characterization of the juvenile hormone-receptor complex. His work stands out among the others because of the structure of the study, the proposal and the development of the objectives, the techniques applied, and the quality of the results obtained, which have been published in scientific journals with high impact.
The Award consists of a financial prize of 500€.
