The IBE is among the 29 centers chosen to receive the ASPIRA-MaX Sagrario Martínez Carrera Excellence Seal, a recognition that highlights the high quality of the projects submitted and the solid strategic framework of the institute to tackle future scientific challenges. This call provides a financial grant of 300,000 euros to implement the IBE's scientific project and excellence plan, with the resolution granted definitively, without the need for corrections.

“This recognition is a key step in the strategic framework of the IBE, which continues to demonstrate its leadership in evolutionary research in southern Europe and globally. The support we have received will allow us to strengthen our infrastructure and advance the scientific projects of the coming years,” says Salvador Carranza, principal investigator and director of the IBE.

This milestone is part of the second phase of the DEEP-MaX-CSIC Program, in which the selected centers will carry out a scientific project and an excellence plan over the next three years.

With this call, CSIC seeks to expand opportunities for its centers and institutes to continue progressing on the path to scientific excellence, thus contributing to the advancement of knowledge and economic, social, and cultural development.

In the third phase, the CSIC Scientific Advisory Committee will evaluate the impact of the DEEP-MaX program on the centers, and those that receive a positive evaluation will be awarded the ASPIRA-MaX "Margalida Comas" Excellence Seal, the highest recognition for scientific excellence awarded by the CSIC presidency.
