The "Consell Assessor per al Desenvolupament Sostenible de Catalunya" is formed by 15  members, and among several funtions, it has to advise on the general guidelines of policies with impact on the environment and sustainable development and to assess and report on proposed actions for the promotion of scientific research in the field of environment and the protection of environmental values​​.
