Science is full of SHEroes whose passion, work and creativity inspired Evolutionary Biologists of today.

As part of our commitment with society, the Institute of Evolutionary Biology (IBE, CSIC-UPF) wants to give credit and visibility to the achievements of female scientists in evolution.

To that aim, we launched the campaign #WhoisyourSHEro to share stories of women who had an impact in our researchers' scientific career through our social media and website.

The campaign keeps on moving as more and more women in evolution are inspiring the IBE community.

You can join the conversation through social media under the hashtag #WhoisyourSHEro

The Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT) has granted IBE's designation as a Scientific Culture and Innovation Unit (UCC+i) in recognition of its informative and educative task. Therefore, the Institute will continue to be an accredited member of the UCC+i Network, which integrates about 80 organizations throughout Spain.

The IBE has a Communication and Dissemination Unit that plans and executes numerous scientific dissemination and communication actions throughout the year, to bring evolutionary biology research to the public.

Examples of this include the scientific dissemination workshops offered annually to local schools and institutes, as well as its course for evolutionary biology teachers, its participation in Science Week, and the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, and its work in communicating the research of the center's research teams through press releases.

Through the Scientific Communication Network (ComCiRed) platform, members of the UCC+i Network can establish contact, exchange practices and contents of scientific communication and dissemination, and request joint dissemination projects. In addition, all members can participate in the annual ComCiRed meeting with the rest of the responsible parties and members of the UCC+i.

With the renewal of accreditation and membership in this dissemination network, the IBE Communication Unit hopes to be able to promote new projects to continue bringing the Institute's science to the public and the local and international scientific community.

"Belonging to this global dissemination network is key for the IBE's communication to continue growing year after year, along with the center," adds Pilar Rodríguez, Head of the IBE Communication Unit.
